In addition to Support Our Survivors, we proudly encourage your support of the following organizations:
|

The Iwo Jima Survivors Association, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(19) veterans organization, does accept financial
contributions. These would be used to produce their Iwo Jima Survivors Journal, fund their educational and
memorial programs and provide for student scholarships. The Journal is filled with one-of-a-kind articles,
letters photos and information from fellow survivors. It is greatly enjoyed by all and is a vital link in keeping
the veterans united. The past three years, the Survivors have contributed to the CCSU scholarship for
students in the military enrolled at the University. Information on how to contact the Survivors to make a
donation can be found on our Contact Us page. The Support Our Survivors of Iwo Jima perform the legwork
and labor of carrying out activities and events of the Iwo Jima Survivors Association.
The Support Our Survivors of Iwo Jima in not yet 501(c)(3) tax exempt so it does not accept financial
contributions directly. We do however, accept help from volunteers or donations of material items needed
to carry out the mission of the Iwo Jima Survivors Association, Inc. Items which we frequently need are
photocopying gift cards, stamps, event signage, printer ink and office supplies. We do have a great need for
volunteers to help prepare for, organize and carry out annual park events.
Donations to help maintain the National Iwo Jima Memorial in Connecticut can be made by going HERE.
We thank you in advance for your interest and help.

This program would match a volunteer with an Iwo Jima Survivor who lives in their area (if one is available).
The volunteer would call or visit the survivor to keep in contact, pass along information from the SOS
website or email, give the survivor a ride to events and act as a liason to communicate with those veterans
not able to freely get around.
Programs we hope to start but need volunteers
|
Volunteer would write a "thank you" card to be sent to veterans in hospitals and nursing homes. Let them
know we appreciate their service to our country and that they are not forgotten.

This is a worthy program which we would like to implement. We are looking for a volunteer to
act as a Volunteer Coordinator to run this program for us. You would match volunteers with
Survivor and Park projects that we are doing, keep track of volunteer hours and coordinate an
"end of the year" Awards Program for our volunteers.

Where ever your interests lie, chances are there is a project we could use your help doing. If you don't see one, suggest one. Many projects can be done off site, even if you live in another state.
